The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of characters who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear out of place, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could enable the team enter places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of Casimir.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Explorers and Strategists groups.
Viewers can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
